Welcome to Cedar's Personal Project Headquarters!
The site's objectives are to assist the students of Cedar International School(CIS) in their quest to complete their personal projects and acts as the informational headquarters for everything to do with the personal project at CIS.
What is the personal project?
The MYP Personal Project is a significant body of work produced by every 10th grade student. The project is completed in the students’ spare time and is the culmination of the experience gained and skills acquired within the MYP. The personal project holds a very important place in the programme. It provides an excellent opportunity for students to produce a truly creative piece of work of their choice and to demonstrate the skills they have developed in approaches to learning. Central to the experience of the personal project are the Areas of Interaction (AOI’s). The topics of the projects are of the student’s own choice depending on their personal interests and desires.
The project may take many forms, for example:
• an original work of art (visual, dramatic, or performance)
• a piece of literary fiction (that is, creative writing)
• an invention or specially designed object or system
Whatever form the personal project takes, the finished product should be accompanied by a piece of structured writing. This piece should reflect the whole process of the project and is usually around 3500 words!
If you want to learn more about the personal project please continue checking out the site, come see me at the school, or look at the IBO's website (http://www.ibo.org/myp/).
